Well dear friends...whats better than having some philosophical outbreaks in the middle of the night while insomnia slaps you in the face, refusing letting you go rest your poor mind?!
Not that I ever feel my mind rested...
So much to consider...
Ok, lets say that we take exploitation, economic inequalities, and eventually the failure of our socio-economic system for granted.
Who said why?
Because, I dont see many things going fine the last 5 years that i became a bit more aware of the global situation. Everything is changing. Well thats normal of course cause in a closed system as earth is, we cant have just endless high profit rates. Not with this retarded financial system based on credit and money out of thin air...and not in resources.
Well of course we can still buy our i-phones and wear nikies! But even that i dont enjoy anymore when i see the mess around me. Especially when i see people that dont realize the big global change happening...people ignorant that dont even pay any attention or wonder why this or why that...
What I mean is that (I think) there is enough knowledge and education (at least in Europe and Us) to understand that socially and economically we are failing to face the new challenges for our civilization while facing totally expected environmental and demographic problems.
At least I would expect people to react and demand some changes in the political system as we all (as they all say) lost faith in.
It is unacceptable to me, that in these times people accept being ruled by very few multinational vultures in so absolute way. Now...that we have so many means to get informed, to activate ourselves...
As i have already said before, the first step is to reach a certain level of awareness. Something that is happening in a very slooooowwww mooootion...
As for the next step...there comes the fun!
I could give you some ideas...but im getting finally sleepy...

Zeitgeit-Moving forward
Just 10 days ago, the new Zietgeist movie has been released fresh and worth watching of course! PIIGS...and other animals..
Some time ago i received a very interesting ''chain mail'' from a friend of mine concerning a public statement of Eugenios Trivizas who is sociologist and professor of criminology in the university of Reading. He is analysing the term P.I.I.G.S. (meaning Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain) that the north people use in economics for the south countries.
First the original statement and bellow, an english (free and dirty) translation.
O χαρακτηρισμός των Ελλήνων ως απατεώνων, προδοτών και άλλων τινών δεν είναι παρά μία ακόμα περίπτωση του κοινωνιολογικού φαινομένου της επικλήσεως αρνητικών εθνικών στερεοτύπων σε περιπτώσεις κρίσεων. Αντί να κρίνονται και να κατακρίνονται αποφάσεις ή ενέργειες συγκεκριμένων ατόμων, στιγματίζεται συλλήβδην έναs ολόκληρoς λαός. Το πιο επικίνδυνο στερεότυπο είναι η αμφισβήτηση της ανθρώπινης φύσης φυλών και εθνών.
Το αρκτικόλεξο «ΡΙGS»(*) (ΓΟΥΡΟΥΝΙΑ), το οποίο χρησιμοποιούν Δυτικοευρωπαίοι και Αγγλοσάξονες επενδυτές και σχολιαστές, ως συνοπτικό τρόπο αναφοράς στους λαούς της Νότιας Ευρώπης και τις οικονομίες τους, δεν είναι μόνο μια κακόγουστη προσβολή. Είναι μια σύγχρονη εκδοχή του ιστορικού φαινομένου της αμφισβήτησης της ανθρώπινης φύσης του συνανθρώπου, της διαδικασίας κατά την οποία μέλη μιας εθνικής ομάδας υποβιβάζουν τα μέλη μιας άλλης στο επίπεδο των ζώων, μεταδίδοντας έμμεσα το μήνυμα ότι είναι άξια να τύχουν παρόμοια με αυτά μεταχείρισης.
Αν και ορισμένα έντυπα, όπως οι «Financial Τimes», και τράπεζες, όπως η Βarclays, κατόπιν καταγγελιών, όπως εκείνη του Πορτογάλου υπουργού Οικονομικών, απαγόρευσαν τη χρήση του, ο όρος κινδυνεύει να καθιερωθεί. Όσοι εξακολουθούν να τον χρησιμοποιούν δεν αντιλαμβάνονται τη σοβαρότητα μιας τέτοιας πρακτικής. Λησμονούν ότι παρόμοιες μειωτικές εκφράσεις είχαν χρησιμοποιηθεί συστηματικά κατά το παρελθόν για να απευαισθητοποιήσουν την κοινή γνώμη, να αναστείλουν τυχόν ενδοιασμούς, να απενεργοποιήσουν τη συναισθηματική ταύτιση και να διευκολύνουν διωγμούς, σφαγές, ακόμα και γενοκτονίες.
Της γενοκτονίας της Ρουάντας για παράδειγμα είχε προηγηθεί μια κυβερνητικά συντονισμένη εκστρατεία λεκτικής «αποκτήνωσης» των θυμάτων και κατά τη διάρκεια του Παγκοσμίου Πόλεμου η ιαπωνική προπαγάνδα είχε χρησιμοποιήσει την ίδια μέθοδο εναντίον των Αμερικανών. Η πιο ακραία, βέβαια περίπτωση, ήταν εκείνη του Τρίτου Ράιχ. Ένα από τα σκευάσματα που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για τη γενοκτονία των Εβραίων στα στρατόπεδα συγκεντρώσεως, ήταν το παρασιτοκτόνο Ζyclon Β. Πολύ πριν, όμως, οι κρατούμενοι εξοντωθούν με παρασιτοκτόνα, είχε προηγηθεί η απομείωση της ανθρώπινης φύσης τους από τον ναζιστικό μηχανισμό προπαγάνδας.
Εκφράσεις όπως «αρουραίοι», «μολυσματικά ζωύφια» είχαν χρησιμοποιηθεί συστηματικά για τον χαρακτηρισμό τους. Και φυσικά όταν εκλαμβάνεις τους αντιπάλους σου όχι ως ανθρώπους αλλά ως κτήνη ή παράσιτα, δεν έχεις και πολλούς ενδοιασμούς για να τους εξοντώσεις προκειμένου να ανακυκλώσεις τις τρίχες ή το λίπος τους. Η λεκτική «αποκτηνωτική» βία αποτελεί συχνά τον προθάλαμο πραγματικής και όχι μόνο στη διεθνή σκηνή.
Σε έρευνά μου για τα εγκλήματα του όχλου είχα κάνει διάκριση μεταξύ δύο κατηγοριών υβριστικών εκφράσεων, εκείνων οι οποίοι αρνούνται τον ανδρισμό του αντιπάλου και εκείνων οι οποίοι αρνούνται την ανθρώπινη φύση του και είχα διαπιστώσει ότι η πρώτη ανοίγει τον δρόμο σε ριτουαλιστική και η δεύτερη σε πραγματική βία. Οι τραγικές συνέπειες της λεκτικής «αποκτήνωσης» είναι ο λόγος για τον οποίο οι ανθρωπολόγοι Μontagu και Μatson θεωρούν ότι οι διαδικασίες άρνησης της ανθρώπινης υπόστασης συνανθρώπων είναι «ο πέμπτος καβαλάρης της Αποκαλύψεως» . Θα ήταν υπερβολικό, βέβαια, να ισχυριστεί κανείς ότι οι χρήστες του όρου «ΡΙGS» προετοιμάζουν το έδαφος για την οικονομική κατακρεούργηση των άσωτων «γουρουνιών» του Νότου.
Είναι όμως απορίας άξιο το ότι πολιτισμένοι άνθρωποι φτάνουν στο σημείο να διαδίδουν μειωτικές εκφράσεις που τόσα δεινά έχουν προκαλέσει κατά το παρελθόν. Όταν δεν αντιμετωπίζουμε τους άλλους ως άτομα, αλλά ως εκπροσώπους στερεοτύπων, όταν μία εθνότητα θεωρείται ότι ενσαρκώνει το έντιμο και το ηθικό και ο αντίπαλος το δόλιο και το ανήθικο, τότε ανοίγει διάπλατα ο δρόμος για κάθε λογής βαρβαρότητα. Ούτε οι Νότιοι είναι «γουρούνια», ούτε οι Έλληνες είναι εκ γενετής απατεώνες, ούτε οι Γερμανοί επιρρεπείς σε γενοκτονίες.
Το καλό και το κακό ενυπάρχει στον καθένα και το δεύτερο μπορεί εύκολα να πυροδοτηθεί από λεκτικές κοινωνικές διαδράσεις. Ας ελπίσουμε ότι ο «πέμπτος καβαλάρης της Αποκαλύψεως», προτού συνεχίσει τη νέα του επέλαση, θα σκοντάψει στους βράχους της λογικής και της κοινής μας ανθρωπιάς.

Instead of criticizing and blaming decisions and actions of certain people, a whole nation is stigmatized. The most dangerous stereotype is the one of doubting the human nature of races and nations.
The abbreviation ´´P.I.I.G.S.´´ (pigs), that the western Europeans and Anglo-Saxon investors are using in order to refer to the people of south Europe and their economies, is not only a bad offence. its also a modern version of the historical phenomenon of the procedure that members of a national identity, abase the members of another lowering to the level of animals and indirectly meaning that they are worthy of similar treatment.
Even though some journals like ´´Financial Τimes´´ and banks like Barclays, after complaints, such as the one of the Portuguese minister of economy, they forebode its use; the term is about to canonized. Whoever still uses it, neglects the seriousness of such a habit. They forget that similar phrases have been used systematically in the past in order to desensitize the public awareness, to suspend any concerns and to disable empathy for making persecutions, massacres and even genocides look different.
During the genocide in Rouanda, for example, there had been a concerted government campaign of verbal "animalization" of the victims and during the WW2, the Japanese propaganda has been using the same method versus the Americans. The most extreme ocassion ofcourse, was the one of the 3rd Raich. The nazis used the anti-paracite gass Zyclon B for the genocide of the Jews in the concentration camps. But before there was happening a systematic impairment of human nature by the nazi propaganda.
Expressions like ‘’rats’’ and ‘’infectuous bugs’’, have been used for their characterisation. So when you consider you enemies as animals or parasites, and not as humans, you dont have big concerns about killing them. The verbal animalisation is very often the prologue for real violence.
During my research about mob crimes, i ve done the distintion between two categories of abusive language, to those who deny the opponents manhood and those who deny the human nature and I realised that the first leads to ritualistic violence, but the second to the real one. The tragic concequences of the verbal animalisation is the reason that the anthropologists Montagu and Matson believe that the refusal of the fellow human existence is ‘’the fifth rider of the apocalypse’’. Maybe we would exagerate by saying the the users of the term ‘’PIGS’’ prepare for the economic massacre of the prodigal ‘’pigs’’ of the south.
But its still unbelievable that civilized people spread disparaging expressions which have caused so much suffering in the past. When we dont deal with others as indivinduals but as representative stereotypes, when a nation is supposed to represent the honesty and morality while the opponent is the fraudulent and unethical, then every way leads to brutality. Neither the South are pigs, nor the Greeks are cheaters since they were born, nor the Germans are prone to genocides.
Good and Evil coexists to everybody, and Evil can be easily promoted by verbal social interactions. Lets hope that the ‘’fifth ryder of the Apocalypse’’ before continuing his new march, he will stumble on the solid reason and our common humanity.

Τhe failure of today...(english version)
Its been long time since i ve updated this wierd blog i got on run some months ago. Truth is that i didnt really feel like dealing with it while i was having more important matters than to puzzle you with my philosophic monologues. Lets just say those last months were not the best of my life.
There were some complaining for the big absence, righgtfully. I hope i wont let you down again. In fact all this time i had more reason to write than ever. I was still out there. Observing but keeping to myself. It was just time for me to fall deep down, with whatever that means. Even though, i was slowly realizing how bad this ‘’western civilization’’ has failed!
Besides the chaotic stupidity of the (majority of the) people, which is one of the favourite topics to discuss in this blog, it seems that the biggest problem of the human race are still the 3 basic fears. After thousands of years, we’re still afraid of the people around us, of the nature (cause we still fail to proove ourselves mightier) and of death of course!
By those 3 basic fears expresed by sociology, science and theology, and after the 2 mazor revolutions in human history (those of pre-Socratics and the renaissance) and some thousands of years of evolution, we have the so called western civilization.
The western civilization as we know it today, is based scientifically and ideologicaly in our knowledge concerning matter and our big obsession to acquire and possess it. Even though, during the last years, science with its latest discoveries (dark matter and anti matter theories) is reaching more and more the conclusion that the matter cannot be the base of our cosmology. Everything is energy instead!!
There is energy everywhere! In and between everything. That conclusion leads to a more holistic approach, where everything is connected and interact with each other. This discovery can change gradually the very basis of our culture and civilization. It can give a totally different perspective of the universe, of nature, of society and of the human being.
That would be the only way to overthrown our materialistic world and create a civilization based in energy-existence. From ‘’I have’’ we shall go to ‘’I am’’ and then slowly realize ‘’all’’. Then it would a common belief that everything is one and is connected with the same energy that flows in the whole universe.
I don’t think it’s hard to imagine how much better would be our world if everybody would start realizing those simple concepts. In fact I believe there is no other choice anymore, than to move to a different perspective.
My new beginning is of course dedicated to my father…

The western civilization as we know it today, is based scientifically and ideologicaly in our knowledge concerning matter and our big obsession to acquire and possess it. Even though, during the last years, science with its latest discoveries (dark matter and anti matter theories) is reaching more and more the conclusion that the matter cannot be the base of our cosmology. Everything is energy instead!!
There is energy everywhere! In and between everything. That conclusion leads to a more holistic approach, where everything is connected and interact with each other. This discovery can change gradually the very basis of our culture and civilization. It can give a totally different perspective of the universe, of nature, of society and of the human being.
That would be the only way to overthrown our materialistic world and create a civilization based in energy-existence. From ‘’I have’’ we shall go to ‘’I am’’ and then slowly realize ‘’all’’. Then it would a common belief that everything is one and is connected with the same energy that flows in the whole universe.
I don’t think it’s hard to imagine how much better would be our world if everybody would start realizing those simple concepts. In fact I believe there is no other choice anymore, than to move to a different perspective.
My new beginning is of course dedicated to my father…

The failure of today...
Είναι πολύς καιρός από τότε που ανανέωσα για τελευταία φορά αυτό το περίεργο πράσινο σκηνικό που έστησα πριν μερικούς μήνες. Δεν είχα και πολύ διάθεση να ασχοληθώ είναι η αλήθεια καθώς με ταλάνιζαν σημαντικότερα θέματα από το να σας πρήζω με τις ανησυχίες μου. Ας πούμε ότι οι τελευταίοι μήνες δεν ήτανε και από τους καλύτερους μήνες τις ζωής μου.
Κάποιοι παραπονεθήκανε για τη μεγάλη απουσία, δικαίως. Ελπίζω να μη σας απογοητεύσω ξανά. Η αλήθεια είναι ότι όλο αυτό το διάστημα δέχτηκα ίσως τα περισσότερα ερεθίσματα από ποτέ. Δεν έμεινα αμέτοχος ή άπραγος και…από ιδέες άλλο τίποτα! Απλά αποφάσισα ότι μου άξιζε να βουλιάξω λίγο, με ότι επακόλουθα μπορεί να έχει αυτό. Παρ όλα αυτά, όλο αυτό το καιρό ανακάλυψα σταδιακά και με πολύ σκέψη, πόσο πολύ έχει αποτύχει ο δυτικός πολιτισμός (μας;)!
Εκτός από τη χαοτική βλακεία κάποιων ανθρώπων (ίσως της συντριπτικής πλειοψηφίας), η οποια είναι από τα αγαπημένα θέματα του blog, φαίνεται ότι το μεγάλο πρόβλημα των ανθρώπων είναι ακόμα οι ανθρώπινες φοβίες. Μετά από τόσες χιλιάδες χρόνια φοβόμαστε ακόμα τον διπλανό μας (γι αυτό και δεν βγαίνει άκρη), την φύση την ίδια γιατί αποτύχαμε να φανούμε δυνατότεροι και τον θάνατο φυσικά γιατί ακόμα και αν οι περισσότεροι πιστεύουνε (ή εχουνε πειστεί) ακράδαντα ότι υπάρχει κάτι καλύτερο μετά θάνατον, μας πάει ‘’να!’’ όταν πλησιάζει η στιγμή!!
Οι 3 αυτές βασικές φοβίες βρίσκοντας διέξοδο στην κοινωνιολογία, στην επιστήμη και την θεολογία αντίστοιχα, μετά από τις 2 μεγάλες επαναστάσεις των Προσωκρατικών και του διαφωτισμού, μας έφεραν σε αυτό που σήμερα ονομάζεται δυτικός πολιτισμός.
Ο δυτικός πολιτισμός όπως τον γνωρίζουμε σήμερα, στηρίζεται επιστημονικά και ιδεολογικά στην γνώση μας γύρω από την ύλη και την επιθυμία για την απόκτηση της. Τελευταία όμως η επιστήμη αποδεικνύει ολοένα και περισσότερο (θεωρίες σκοτεινής ενέργειας, αντί-ύλη) ότι η Ύλη δε μπορεί να αποτελεί τη βάση της κοσμολογίας μας. Όλα είναι ενέργεια!
Η ενέργεια είναι παντού. Ανάμεσα και μέσα σ όλα. Αυτό το συμπέρασμα οδηγεί σε μια ολιστική θεωρία, όπου όλα συνδέονται, αλληλεπιδρούν και αλληλοεπηρεάζονται. Αυτή η μεγάλη ανακάλυψη ίσως να οδηγήσει σταδιακά σε αλλαγή των βάσεων του πολιτισμού μας. Αλλαγή του τρόπου θεώρησης του σύμπαντος, της φύσης, της κοινωνίας και του ανθρώπου σαν ύπαρξη.
Έτσι θα περάσουμε από τον πολιτισμό της ύλης, στον πολιτισμό της ενέργειας-ύπαρξης. Από το ‘’έχω’’ θα πάμε στο ‘’είμαι’’, έτσι ώστε σιγά σιγά και από το είμαι να πάμε στο Όλο! Όπου θα είναι αυτονόητο πλέον ότι όλα είναι ένα και συνδέονται μεταξύ τους με την ίδια ενέργεια που διέπει όλο το σύμπαν.
Για όσους θέλουν να εντρυφήσουν περισσότερο, συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα το βιβλίο του Μάνου Δανέζη και Στράτου Θεοδοσίου, ‘’Το μέλλον του παρελθόντος μας’’ από το οποίο πήρα και το τελευταίο ερέθισμα για αυτά τα θέματα.
Το ‘’ξαναξεκίνημα’’ μου δε θα μπορούσε παρά να είναι αφιερωμένο…στον πατέρα μου…
